AI audio tools for creators: voice, music and clean-up

Speech, songs and repair are three different problems

"AI audio" is not one category. Narration, original music and repairing bad room recordings each need something different, and the licensing rules differ sharply between them.

Not a ranking. Read the licensing rows carefully — they are where creators get caught out.

The jobs, and what covers them

Narration and dubbing in your own voice

ElevenLabs — Voice cloning from short samples, multi-language dubbing that keeps the original voice, and an API for batch work.

What it is bad at: Credits run out quickly on long-form scripts, and commercial licensing terms should be read before monetising.

Original songs and music beds

Suno — Complete songs — vocals, lyrics and production — from a prompt, with a free tier you can experiment on.

What it is bad at: Free-plan songs stay non-commercial and Suno owns them; upgrading later does not retroactively license them. Only permitted Downloads carry commercial rights, and Suno itself warns copyright may not vest in AI output.

Cleaning up the recording you already have

Descript — Studio Sound cleans up mediocre room audio as part of the same edit where you cut the transcript.

What it is bad at: Designed around speech, not music production.

What this page is not

This is not a ranked list, and there is no "best" pick. Every entry linked above carries its own sourced facts, its own list of unverified items, and its own last-checked date.

None of these tools has been tested hands-on by us, so none carries a star rating. Every price on the individual entries is a US logged-out reference price; logged-in and non-US pricing is unverified.
